Studijní materiál se zabývá pojmy zdraví a nemoc, uvádí determinanty zdraví. Následuje nejobsáhlejší kapitola popisující různá onemocnění, jejich symptomy a léčbu. Onemocnění jsou řazena dle orgánových systémů nebo věkových skupin. Část týkající se prevence se věnuje prevenci infekčních onemocnění a rakovině, principům zdravého životního stylu a zdravé stravy.

The study material deals with the definitions of health and disease, it lists determinants of health. The largest chapter describes various diseases, their symptoms and treatment. Diseases are listed according to the organ systems or age groups. The chapter concerning prevention involves prevention of infectious diseases and cancer, principles of a healthy lifestyle and a healthy diet.

Objectives

Student získá odbornou slovní zásobu k tématu, seznámí se s pojmy nemoc a zdraví. Osvojí si základní informace o různých onemocněních, porozumí jejich symptomům a léčbě. Dozví se o různých způsobech prevence, umí pochopit zásady zdravého životního stylu a zdravé stravy.

Students gain medical terminology linked to the topic, they get acquainted with the definition of heath and disease. They acquire the basic information about various diseases, they understand their symptoms and treatment. They learn about different ways of prevention, they comprehend principles of a healthy lifestyle and a healthy diet.
