Výukový materiál v otevřeném digitálním zdroji je určen pro výuku odborného anglického jazyka na vyšších odborných školách. Obsah materiálu je zaměřen na obor Diplomovaný zubní technik. Zabývá se materiály používanými v dentální protetice. V úvodní kapitole popisuje krátce obor dentální protetika a vysvětluje, proč zubní technici potřebují mít znalosti o materiálech používaných v oboru. V dalších kapitolách popisuje základní charakteristiky různých protetických materiálů. Nejdříve se jedna kapitola zabývá třemi hlavními protetickými materiály. Následující kapitola se věnuje šesti skupinám pomocných materiálů.

The educational material in the open digital source is designed to teach English language at higher professional schools. The content of the material was created for the branch of study of the certified dental technician. It concerns itself with materials used in dental prosthetics. In the introductory chapter it describes briefly the field of dental prosthetics and explains why dental technicians need good knowledge of materials used in the field. In further chapters it describes basic features of various prosthetic materials. First, one chapter deals with three main prosthetic materials. The following chapter deals with six groups of auxiliary materials.

Objectives

Studenti se seznámí s materiály používanými v dentální protetice a se základními požadavky na tyto materiály. Dokáží je rozdělit do různých podskupin. Dokáží je vyjmenovat a popsat jejich základní charakteristiky a odpovídající využití v dentální protetice. Použitou slovní zásobu si upevní využitím slovníčků a interaktivních cvičení, jejichž použití směřuje také k rozvoji komunikativních kompetencí a fixaci správné výslovnosti. Na konci si studenti ověří znalosti tématu v samostudijním testu.

The students will become acquainted with materials used in dental prosthetics. They will be able to divide them into various subgroups. They will name them and describe their characteristics and their corresponding use in dental prosthetics. Vocabulary employed in the source will be consolidated by the use of vocabulary lists and interactive exercises which lead to the development of communicative competence and reinforcement of proper pronunciation. At the end of the study, the students will verify their knowledge of the subject matter in a self-test.
